STYLE : lady dates

Lately, I'm not sure if its the winter setting in or my mind growing I feel like i've dropped a layer of either self doubt or confidence and it's so confusing. I've been mending friendships which mean the world to me, I let them slip away. This took a lot for me, to overcome my inner thoughts and be like Nikki just do the thing. And i'm so happy for this, good friendships make shitty days, weeks, months just better. Getting through the crap with people is so much better than alone.

So to round that up, I went and had dinner with one of my closest friends and caught up on everything that'd been going on.  I've really been learning to grow as a person.
I know growing can be scary, but it's also needed to be the best person I can be.

on other note, cardigan and dresses look like you put so much effort into it, but secretly you didn't.

Cardigan : Princess Highway // Dress : Dangerfield
Scarf : Vintage // Brooch : Pop That Cassette
Shoes : Crocs.

Also really trying to get into a a groove to post a lot more, I really do love blogging.
Stay tuned!

ADVENTURE // road trip

In October, the light of my life & I traveled from Brisbane Down to Chopped.
(previous post full of chopped pictures)

We took our time and took two weeks doing 5 or so hours each day and stopping to enjoy the scenery as we went a long the way. Getting to hang out with your best friend for two weeks straight is amazing and we really learnt a lot more about each other and fell in love more which is the best feeling. I saw parts of Australia I had never seen, fields of flowers, beautiful rivers, long roads and empty buildings.  Ben took me to the town he grew up in and took me on a date to the movies which was so beautiful inside (we even got an upgrade to extra large popcorn because he knew the man working hehe). Spent a day in Melbourne and used the old photobooth at the train station. Ben and I are already talking about our next trip. This post will be image heavy so I hope you enjoy the lil look inside my favourite holiday so far.

& if you got through them all, THAT'S A WRAP!

REVIEW // SODA SWEETHEARTS

So yesterday was my birthday (woo! more on that soon!) But whats a better way to spend it than trying on these wonderful hair pieces from soda sweethearts. Soda Sweethearts is a newer hair piece company by the wonderfully sweet & talented Holly. Each piece is custom made with so much sweetness you can see it! Every flower is arranged thoughtfully and attached on back with felt and a sturdy large clip these babies are not going anywhere once placed in your hair!(just what i want hehe!) She has a new range of christmas pieces which would be perfect for the festive season!

They came in a little box via snail mail, wrapped in pink tissue paper with a sweet lil note! The box made sure they came to their new home safely. And there was even a packet of fairy floss in there for me to  nibble on while writing this hehe.

She does custom orders too! so I'd swing on over as fast as you can and snap some of these cuties up!

I received three wonderful pieces by Holly, a lil orchard clip & two big flower arrangement pieces.

Make sure to like the wonderful business on
Facebook page
& to check out the
etsy

The three beautiful pieces & the yummy fairy floss.

This lil orchard clip is beautiful for everyday wear.

The first of the two larger pieces is this beautiful purple piece, i love the hint of whites.

The second is this pink, orange, white and baby blue piece with large leafs to off set it, these colour work in harmony with each other and I think look amazing in my orange hair.
It actually suited my tea cake dress perfectly! I love when things match perfectly.

(How long has my hair gotten?? so great mermaid status here we come!)

Commissions // Pollys parlour.

Spring is in the air! I'm so excited this winter was far too chilly. While I do love a cute cardigan and coats I'm looking forward to cute little bathers and sandals for sure. I'm so happy for the wonderful clients I have and as I get ready to take a break from commissions and go on holiday (first time since becoming a freelancer I'm taking time off so it's a big deal and I still feel weird not having my life all planned out for a few weeks it is scary hehe)

The wonderful polly, asked me to design a fun logo for her new business. I love her twinkly nightie and pink hair rollers.

Adventures // Greazefest.

Hey all you cuties, I'm back I've had a lot of personal things going on but I'm all back on the saddle now. This past weekend was Greazefest one of the best kustom kulture events in Australia. It's a tradition for Mum and I to go, but was very happy to take my Mr and my dad as well.

Funny story, last year I was getting my photo in front of some hot rods at last years greazefest and a few months ago I was going through them and none other than my boyfriend Ben is in the background of the photos. I even took a photo of his Val as he was driving away because I loved it. Goes to show you, you never know who'll you'll meet and how important a then stranger will become in your life.

This year was a lot of fun, we went on the Sunday full of wonderful hotrods, beautiful ladies and gents, bikes, food, stalls It's seriously a blast. I ran into so many illustrator friends I know so it was a wonderful time to catch up with friends as well.
