Ring my bell!

This week I sadly caught a virus and have been pretty run down, but that has never stopped me before. One thing this year I hope to do more of is ride my bike, I think once I get a bike rack for the back of the car it'll be easily as I'll be able to take it to all the lakes and parks as my street isn't really for riding a bike sadly. This pink ball of metal makes me so happy, it's so flippin cute. The wonderful people from bike belle sent me a lil package with a super cute bell and wheel caps that look like what for it LITTLE CUPCAKES, i squealed when I opened it.

Lady outside the lake //lunch adventure.

The other weekend I was such a sick lil lady, but our car club group decided to go and have a BBQ in the botanical gardens up on Mt tambourine. I put on many layers of make up and drank lots of water and tea. It was a lot of fun, I was pooped by the end of the day but wouldn't live life any other way.

I sadly forgot to take photos of the actual bbq but heres some of the day
The kookaburras there were so human dependent I think, wanting all the foods.

I've been trying out new hair styles now that my hair is longer including my fringe, this bumper bang is a new fav!

Looking like a complete stalker! BUT a new valient couple has joined our lil group. YAY more friends.

& finally in Australia they decided it was easier to build a road around a tree than to cut this beautiful tree down.

Kustom Krafts: Westfield Helensvale

On Sunday it was finally time for Kustom Krafts, run by the lovely Kat. I was Lucky enough to design the flyer for the event I even had a stall there as well. Now this is my first proper market stall so I was still learning the swing of things but all in all I think it went amazing! My mumma and daddio helped set up and we took turns manning it through out the day. Was so wonderful meeting a lot of new faces and some of my followers on here as well so thank you all for stopping by. There was tonnes of market stalls with some of the most wonderful vintage and repro goodies! There was bands with dancers ( I really want to learn one of these days) and lots of vintage cars!

The next one is may 27th of May so make sure to drop in to Helensvale Westfield!

NOW PICTURES GALORE!

My wonderful partner (in crime) was such a big help along with my parents.

And now for the cars!

My boys sign talent for our car club BBQ!

I BOUGHT TWO VINTAGE HATS, this is one and it's beautiful.

Kelly & Ben manned the BBQ for our car club!

Bloom in your own time. // thoughts on art comparison.

As an artist I am constantly surrounded by other talented people especially through social media sites facebook, instagram and blogs and I'll be the first to admit it's very hard to not compare yourself to another artist, and when you see work which you deem to be "better" than you're own it's hard not to get down. But over the many years of finding myself as not only an artist but as my own person, style wise, morals wise, food wise even as you get older you realise it's okay to be you, it's okay to like this or that and why wouldn't I apply that to my art? I read this quote and I can no longer remember the words so I rephrased it and it goes something like this

"A flower bud would not compare it's growth to the flower next to it, it will bloom in it's own time."

And since I read that quote it's been on my mind, it's really helped me put a lot of things into perspective.

So I'm making a pro active choice to be positive by supporting other artists even if it's just through a like or a comment. I'm going to make a conscious choice not compare myself because you would never compare a fish to a toaster so this should not be any different. I think if everyone started to be more supportive of one another and not as competitive we'd all get along not only with each other but our selves as well.

While thinking over this concept I drew up this wonderful lil lady, I feel she envisions what and who I'd like to be this winter.

Till next time.

Kitschy Kitschy Cute!

Something I've never drawn was little humans, but when the wonderful Bree whom I have worked with on her makeup company logo and was lucky enough to meet at Greazefest, asked me to do a logo for her new business I jumped at the opportunity. I'm always about challenging myself and trying new things and for her new business venture Kitschy Kitschy Cute we came up with a very kitschy cute design.

Here is Bree & I last year at Greazefest, I hope I get to see her at a show this year such a wonderful lady.

Make sure to check out her new facebook for Kitschy Kitschy Cute!

Commission // PUPPIES!

The wonderful Ellie, runs a dog grooming business and is one of the most loveliest animal people I have ever met. I recently worked with her on a design to originally be used for outdoors signage but it'll end up on business cards and other things as well so that's exciting! It's a illustration of herself and her four pups!

Details.

Little freckles.

A little mock up of what the signage will look like.
